Tutorials#
Every Upload Academy course offers additional weekly tutorials available to students who want to (vastly) accelerate their learning. These tutorials get the student(s) closer to the author(s) of the course, and allows them to work in group exercises, ask questions to the author(s), and get a deeper understanding of every topic in the course.
Tutorials aren't free, however. They're not included in the one-time cost of the course you've paid for, but they are worth every penny you pay.
Please visit the Upload Academy Tutorials page for the CloudOps Level One course for information on costs and availablility.
Warning
There are a limited number of tutorial places due to author availability.
Structure#
The tutorials are structured in the style of the University tutorial: a group of students gather to be presented with more information on a topic, and are then given group exercises to complete among themselves. Our tutorials are no different, following a similar format.
All tutorials are two hours in length and follow this structure (but can be highly flexibility given the number of attendees):
Time | Topic | Presenter |
---|---|---|
5 minutes | Welcome and introduction | Author |
15 minutes | Presentation on topic | Author |
10 minutes | Group exercise explained | Author |
5 minutes | Group organisation | Author |
30 minutes | Exercise time | Group |
20 minutes | Solution presentation | Group |
20 minutes | Solution presentation | Author |
15 minutes | Q&A | Author/Student |
This structure isn't strictly enforced. Sometimes the tutorial group is too small, so the structure and presentation style changes. Students may also request to use the two hour slot in a different manner, but ultimately the author is the deciding factor.
Note
All tutorials are delivered through Zoom, not Discord. Zoom has much better capabilities when it comes to delivering a tutorial - breakout rooms, for example.
Limited Availability#
An author runs, at minimum, one tutorial per week. Anything more can be quite taxing. In light of this, tutorials tend to have a limited availability of 20 students.
